Tourism
Jefferson County, the location of Salmon Run Mall, is located in the Northwestern part of New York State, directly on the Southern border of Canada and the St. Lawrence River. The region's burgeoning economy is anchored by the city of Watertown, Fort Drum, the nation's second largest military installation and the largest employer in the state, and the tourism of the Thousand Islands.
Alexandria Bay draws thousands of visitors each year to enjoy the beautiful waters of the St. Lawrence River, ideal for boating, water sports, fishing, swimming, or simply lounging on a dinner cruise. The region also is known for its fun local nightlife and the rich history of the Thousand Islands, highlighted by attractions such as Boldt Castle or the antique Boat Museum. Also, there are ample opportunities for hiking, camping, and taking in the outdoors with over 100 state parks, privately owned campgrounds, marinas, and other outdoor attractions. The Thousand Island Bridge into Canada, located only 25 miles from the mall, provides easy access to all sorts of additional activities.
Whatever your passion, Salmon Run Mall and the surrounding Watertown Region are sure to offer you an experience that you will never forget.
