The Watertown YMCA and Samaritan Medical Center Foundation has announced this year’s theme for the annual “A North Country Festival of Trees” will be “Merry and Bright”. The festival this year will be held in the former BonTon space at the Salmon Run Mall. Bidding on the trees will take place online.
Annual traditions such as the Gala and the Sugar Plum Ball was cancelled last year due to COVID, however, an update regarding these events has yet to be announced.
Tree decorators will be tasked with designing and creating ‘holiday magic’ centered around the theme “Merry and Bright”. Decorators will receive a choice of 4-ft or 7-ft artificial trees, white tree lights, and 8 x 8 space for the tree and other decor, their name and tree decoration theme listed in the event program and signage with each name and tree theme. A panel of judges will select a 4-ft and a 7-ft winning tree in specific categories. These categories include Jim Henry Most Whimsical, Best Use of Theme, Most Traditional, Most Innovative, Most Elegant, Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice.
A North Country Festival of Trees will kick off online bidding starting November 26th and bidding will close on December 4, 2021. stay tuned for bidding details, public viewing hours and more information coming soon!
